To Florence!

Thursday April 15, 2021

My landscape paintings are heading off from the Isle of Wight to Florence.

I have some very exciting news: I have been invited by Florence Biennale President, Pasquale Celona, to show my landscape paintings in this year’s XIII Florence Biennale.

The International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence works for the promotion and valorisation of the artists offering the opportunity to engage with art and culture at an international level and is regarded as an outstanding showcase of international contemporary art production.

“I’m glad to inform you that we just announced your participation in the XIII Florence Biennale 2021 on our official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FLRbiennale”

What a year this is turning into. I’m currently moving into a bigger space at Binnel Studios, having spent the last seven years in my current space (I really have outgrown it) the new space is not only a third times bigger and taller but it has more daylight, plus brand new lighting too, so watch this space – I can already feel that bigger canvases are going to be needed!

The biennale is in October and we have the Open Studios at the end of August, so it’s all out between now and autumn. Despite having to take the necessary precautions at last year’s Open, it was still a roaring success, so I expect this year will be even bigger.

I have to say a huge thank you to all at Sussex Business Solutions for my new website. If not for this and its efficient search engine optimisation, Giovanni Cordoni, Curator of the Biennale, would probably not have found me, so it just goes to show how important well designed websites and social media are.
