New space, new work

With a new, bigger space comes light, height and braver works tackling a greater sense of scale. Celia’s new space at Binnel Studios on the Isle of Wight is impressive to say the least and converts easily to a stunning gallery space showcasing a wide range of her work.

A very successful open weekend at the studios generated a huge amount of interest with a local collector snapping up the largest piece in the collection 160x160cm. Celia has only been in her new studio since May but has embraced the space utilizing her signature slashes and gashes of colour while taking on proportions of human size.

One piece that generated a large amount of interest was “Triple Trouble”, a gold-hot triptych and “Distant memories’ a beautiful Lanzarote-inspired landscape. Many giclee prints were sold and it is great that Celia can now order prints up to a meter square.

A well-earned rest before the success continues as Celia has been invited by the President of the Florence Biennale to take part in this year’s show in October.

The past year has been an absolute rollercoaster ride for Celia and her journey towards being a truly international landscape painter continues.
